OPTIMAL SCHEDULING OF WORKER’S SCHEDULES AT THE LOW COST HIRING PROCESS, CASE STUDY: HARBORLAND

Abstract

This research focuses on improving the efficiency of employee work schedule management at Harborland, a venue that serves visitors of various age groups and experiences different levels of crowd density at different times. The goal of the study is to allocate the appropriate number of employees in line with the number of visitors while reducing staffing costs. Data was collected over the course of one year, from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. In addition, the number of visitors was forecasted one month in advance using the collected data, in order to plan future employee work schedules. Five staffing scenarios were considered. The research findings indicate that the approach significantly improved operational efficiency at Harborland, resulting in a total reduction of employee staffing costs across all scenarios by 1,147,500 THB.
