Decision Support System to Analyze the Concentration of the Feed Industry Using Technique of Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI)

Abstract
This special problem aims to develop a decision support system to analyze the concentration of the feed industry by using Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI) technique. The system is developed with VB.Net and SQL server. It is developed for 2 types of users, administrators and general users. Administrators set an authorization status for each user, and initialize the default value for users. The general users can query the report for the decision making and planning purpose. The evaluation result of satisfactory from 5 experts is in a good level with an average of 4.49 and 0.50 standard deviation. The evaluation result of 15 general users is also in a good level with an average of 4.425 and 0.47 standard deviation. From the evaluation of both groups, it can be concluded that the decision support system for analyzing the concentration of the feed industry satisfied the users? needs. Moreover the system is accurate enough to be used in real-life.
