Abstract

The research objective of this study was to develop an application on the Android operating system that helps find the position of the cutting tool on the lathe using the least rotation method to reduce the number of tool magazine slots or time used to rotate and change cutting tools. This method is applied to lathes and cutting tools. The work pattern of the cutting tool is determined and the installation pattern of the cutting tool is calculated by specifying the work sequence of the cutting tool and creating tool data using an icon frame in a mobile android application. The research found that the developed application can position the cutting tools on major turrets. Most efficiently using the control method with an average value equal to 34.95.
