Land use changes and cropping pattern for suitable plantation at Phuthapboek, Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This research aims to study land use changes and cropping pattern in the slope area at
Phuthapboek, Wangban District Phetchabun Province for suitable plantation replace cabbage planting. Thestudy were used geographic information system to classify land used. The result showed that Phuthapboekarea has four types of land uses, i.e. forest area , living space and community area , farmland and tourismservice area. The forest area was changed to farmland 0.819 mand there was a changed in farmland totourism service area 0.351 m2. In the past, the tourism service area was farmland in Phuthapboek area. Whentourism development found that the land use was changed from farmland to many resort, accommodation,café and restaurants. For plantation in Phuthapberk area depends on the elevation above sea level. Thecropping pattern was rotated planting in the year. The farmer most do both agricultural and tourismbusiness together to increase income from selling plant product and accommodation
