Abstract

The objective of the research is to develop smart electric meter under the concept of Internet of
Things (IoT). The device can measure the electricity consumption in the home as a digital electricity meter,
reduce space constraints that the digital electricity meter system of the Provincial Electricity Authority is
inaccessible. The consumer knows the number of electrical units used (Kwh) and the current power used.
Including the amount of electricity accumulated monthly and yearly, and the calculation of the electricity
cost. It is reported through the web application. There is also a power failure notification function via LINE
application. This is to encourage the use of information to properly plan the use of electricity.
The results of testing and implementation in the home electrical system have been found that it
can be used. There is a reliable and alert reporting system. The smart electric meter has an information
notification via Line Notify. Comparison experiment of electric power consumption rate of the intelligent
electric meter with a normal electric meter, the results showed that the difference in electricity
consumption rate measured by the two devices was 0.72 percent.
