Abstract

This study aimed to produce the ethylene absorbent paper (EAP) fromactivated carbons (Bamboo and Corn Cob) for delay ripening and qualities of ‘HomThong’ banana (Musax paradisiacal). The experiment was divided to 6 level of powderactivated carbon added in EAP at 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50% (w/w). Results showed thatthe banana packed with Ethylene Absorber Paper extended the storage life anddelayed change of peel color of ‘Hom Thong’ banana better than the control fruits. Two kinds of activated carbons from Bamboo and Corn Cob (activated carbon 30 and40 w/w) had the longest storage life (12 days) and had better ‘Hom Thong’ bananaqualities with yellow color while the control banana were bad quality with dark color.
