Potential of Elderly Dependent Caregivers in Khung Taphao Sub-district, Mueang District, Uttaradit Province

This cross-sectional study aimed to study the elderly dependent caregivers’problems, needs, and tension level. The population were 50 elderly dependent caregivers within Khung Taphao sub-district, Mueang district, Uttaradit province. Data were collected by the use of a set of questionnaires, then, the collected data were statistically and descriptively analyzed. The study results revealed that the elderly dependent caregivers’ problems were found at a minimal level (µ=2.41, =0.79), while their social welfare problems were mostly at the highest level (µ=2.60,
=0.78). Their needs to look after the elderly dependent were at the moderate level (µ=3.28, =0.84), but mostly at a high level for social welfare (µ=3.31, =0.86), to take care of the elderly dependents (µ=3.26, =0.88), and information accessibility respectively (µ=3.26, =0.79). Their collective capacity was found at a good level (µ=3.07, =0.66), mostly relating to self-physical care (µ=3.13,
= 0.69), environmental care (µ=3.07, =0.54), and psychological health care respectively (µ=3.00, = 0.76). They appeared to be tense collectively at low level (µ=3.44, =2.55). Their attempts for self and emotional adjustment, in parallel with financial solving problems were found at a highest level, second from their irritating feeling caused from the evident of the elderly dependents’ self-care inability. The organizational locations should be established with special relations to the aging people's carrying capacity development in stress management, financial management. supplementary income earning, and welfare provision. All of them should be organized relevant to their needs within their self-reliance stage.
