The State Anxiety of Uttaradit Rajabhat University Athletes Participated in the 48 Thailand University Game

Abstract

'The aim of this research is to investigate the levels of anxiety in athletes, specifically those who participated in the 48th edition of the Thailand University Games, which included 19 individuals from Uttaradit Rajabhat University. Among these participants, 12 were male, and 7 were female. The study employed a questionnaire-based tool to assess anxiety in various situations, known as the Revised Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2R), which was developed by Cox, Martens, and Russell in 2003. The Thai version of this tool was translated and adapted by Pichit Muangnapo in 2000. " The questionnaire evaluates anxiety across three dimensions: Physical anxiety, with a reliability coefficient of 0.75 and a validity coefficient of 0.69. Mental anxiety, with a reliability coefficient of 0.85 and a validity coefficient of 0.76. Self-confidence, with a reliability coefficient of 0.83 and a validity coefficient of 0.76. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation calculations The research findings revealed that anxiety levels in athletes, specifically those who participated in the 48th edition of the Thailand University Games from Uttaradit Rajabhat University, varied based on different situations. The study summarized the following results:Three days before the competition and one day before the competition, male and female athletes exhibited low physical anxiety levels, moderate mental anxiety levels, and high self-confidence levels.One hour before the competition, male and female athletes had moderate physical anxiety levels and moderate mental anxiety levels. Male athletes had high self-confidence levels, while female athletes had moderate self-confidence levels
