The Perception of Healthcare Rights among Students at Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University

Abstract

This survey research aims to study the perception of healthcare rights among students at Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University. The sample group consists of 367 individuals, with the sample size calculated using Yamane formula. A multi-stage sampling method was employed to collect data through questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum, and minimum values.

The research results showed that the majority of the sample were female, accounting for 55.90%, with an average age of 20.32±1.24 years. The most common age among the sample was 19 years old, making up 35.10%. Most students studied in the Faculty of Education, representing 31.60%, and were in their first year, accounting for 27.50%. The study found that 89.40% of the participants were knowledgeable about universal health insurance (Gold Card). The highest awareness of university health services was accident insurance, at 36.10%. Additionally, 80.40% were aware of the university's health service facilities, namely the Student Affairs Center (SAC). Overall, the perception of healthcare rights among Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University students was rated high ( x = 3.77, S.D. = 1.74). When considering individual items, the highest perception was that all Thai nationals are entitled to universal health insurance (Gold Card) ( x = 4.82, S.D. = 0.85). The second highest was the ability to use the 13-digit national ID card to access national health insurance benefits ( x = 4.63, S.D. = 1.40). The lowest perception related to the coverage of mental health counseling and depression treatment under universal health insurance, rated at a moderate level ( x = 2.95, S.D. = 2.13).
