THE DEVELOPMENT OF AUDIO MEDIA FOR LEARNING TO USE GOOGLE DOCS FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Abstract

The research on the development of audio media for learning to use Google Docs for individuals with visual impairments aimed to 1) develop audio media to support learning in the use of Google Docs for visually impaired users, and 2) investigate the satisfaction of visually impaired individuals who utilized the audio media to learn how to use Google Docs.  The sample group consisted of 30 visually impaired students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included 1) the developed audio media, 2) an expert evaluation form to assess the efficiency of the audio media, and 3) a satisfaction questionnaire regarding the use of the developed audio media. The findings revealed that the audio media developed for learning to use Google Docs was effective, as evaluated by experts, with a mean score ( ) of 4.48 and a standard deviation (S.D.) of 0.60.

Additionally, user satisfaction with the audio media yielded a mean score ( ) of 4.44 and a standard deviation (S.D.) of 0.56. These results suggest that the audio media is suitable for learning how to use Google Docs among visually impaired individuals and also supports convenient, quick, and accessible review of content via mobile phones, computers, or tablets.
