Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization: Theory & Applications (JNAO) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. We take all necessary measures against any publication malpractices. The following principles and standards of ethical behavior are based on the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and must be strictly adhered to by all parties involved in the publishing process.
Journal Editors
-
Publication Decision: The Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts exclusively on the basis of their academic merit and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, without regard to the author(s)’ race, gender, religious belief, political philosophy, or institutional affiliation.
-
Confidentiality: The editors and editorial staff must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts until they are published, except in cases of suspected double submission or if the manuscript is under revision or published elsewhere. Privileged information or ideas obtained through the peer-review process must be kept strictly confidential and not used for personal advantage.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used for other purposes without the written consent of the author(s). Editors and Associate Editors must recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions connected to the manuscripts.
Reviewers
-
Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer reviewers assist the editors in making the decision to publish a manuscript and also assist the author(s) in improving the quality of their work.
-
Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others unless authorized by the editors.
-
Standards of Objectivity: Manuscript reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author(s) is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting scientific or evidence-based arguments.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must not use any information obtained through the peer-review process for personal advantage. Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest with the author(s), companies, or institutions affiliated with the manuscripts.
Author(s)
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Author(s) must ensure that they have produced entirely original works. If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, the respective sources must be appropriately cited or quoted. Any attempt at plagiarism, data fabrication/falsification, or citation manipulation will result in the immediate rejection of the submitted manuscript. Author(s) must not submit the same work concurrently to more than one journal.
-
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: If the research involves the use of animals or human participants, the author(s) must ensure that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines, and include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained. If the work involves equipment or procedures that carry chemical, genetic, or environmental hazards, the author must clearly state these risks in the manuscript.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be explicitly disclosed.
