Abstract

The moisture adsorbent was prepared from rice hulks by chemical method. The chemical of potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, zinc chloride, nitric acid and phosphoric acid were using for activation. The chemicals and calcined temperature was varied in the range of 2.0 mol/dm3 and 400 °C. The specific surface area of obtained sample (phosphoric acid, 400 °C) was found at 10.53 m2/g. XRD diffraction pattern of optimum moisture adsorbent had amorphous carbon arrangement structure. The highest performance of moisture adsorption was 55.10 percentage from the optimum absorbent.
