About the Journal
SCOPE AND AIM OF THAI GEOSCIENCE JOURNAL (TGJ):
TGJ is an international (Thai and English) journal publishing original research articles dealing with the geological sciences. It focuses, mainly but not exclusively, on: Sedimentology and Geomorphology, Palaeontology, Quaternary, Geology and Environment Change, Geological Hazards, Environmental Geosciences, Geophysics, Mineral and Petroleum Geology, Tectonics and Structural Geology, Geochemistry and Geochronology, Metamorphic Geology and Volcanic and Igneous Geology. Two types of articles are published in the Journal: Research Article and Review Article. Research Articles are new original articles, normally not exceeding 25 pages. Review Articles are those papers that summarize the current state of knowledge on specific fields or topics of geosciences. They analyze and discuss previously published research results, rather than report new results. TGJ Aim is to provide valuable geoscience knowledge and information and push more inspiration for readers and researchers to produce treasure research in the future.
The peer review process for the Thai Geoscience Journal involves a comprehensive evaluation by at least two reviewers. Here is an outline of the peer review process:
- Submission: Authors submit their geoscience manuscripts to the Thai Geoscience Journal for consideration.
- Editorial Check: The editorial team conducts an initial review to ensure the submission adheres to the journal's guidelines and standards. They assess the manuscript's suitability, originality, and adherence to publication ethics.
- Reviewer Assignment: The editorial team assigns at least two qualified reviewers with expertise in the relevant geoscience field to evaluate the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their knowledge, experience, and impartiality. The review process follows a double-blind review, ensuring that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other to maintain impartiality and objectivity.
- Peer Review: Reviewers thoroughly assess the manuscript, focusing on content, methodology, results, and overall contribution to the geoscience field. They provide constructive feedback, suggest revisions, and make recommendations for the editorial team.
- Author Revisions: Authors receive feedback from the reviewers and make necessary revisions to address comments and improve the manuscript. The revised manuscript is resubmitted to the journal.
- Second Round of Review (if needed): In case significant revisions are made, the manuscript may undergo a second round of review to ensure that the suggested improvements have been appropriately addressed.
- Editorial Decision: The editorial team, considering the feedback from the reviewers and the revised manuscript, makes a decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.
- Publication: Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage and are published in the Thai Geoscience Journal.
- Feedback to Reviewers: Reviewers may receive feedback on the final decision and are acknowledged for their valuable contributions to the peer review process.
- Confidentiality: The entire peer review process is conducted confidentially to maintain the integrity of the review and ensure unbiased evaluations.
